Fishing Venues
Ellerdine Lakes (TF6 6QR | 8 miles)
A popular destination offering trout fly fishing across four lakes, open from September to June. On-site facilities include a tackle shop, equipment hire, and a café. Availability and day tickets can be checked via their Facebook page.
Loynton Lakes Fishery (ST20 0QA | 4 miles)
A premier trout fishery set across three spring-fed lakes (12 acres), stocked with brown, rainbow, and blue trout. No pre-booking is required, and visitors can enjoy a café and full facilities on site.
Showell Mill Fishery, Sambrook (2 miles)
An established trout pool known for larger fish. Please note there are currently seasonal weed issues, and restocking has been limited.
Howle Pool (TF10 8AY | 2.4 miles)
A local and well-stocked lake with common and mirror carp up to 23lb. Limited daily anglers ensure a peaceful experience. Nine woodchipped pegs are available, with depths ranging from 2ft to over 7ft. Day and night fishing sessions are offered.
Tern Fisheries, Market Drayton (TF9 2PA | 6 miles)
Three medium-sized pools in secluded surroundings, stocked with carp and other coarse fish. Open year-round (weather permitting). Day tickets available, and advance booking is recommended.
Melverley Farm Fish Pools (TF6 6QX | 7 miles)
Four pools offering carp and coarse fishing, including a specimen pool with fish up to 28lb. Day tickets are available on arrival—no pre-booking required.
Kingswell Pool (Ellerton Hall Estate)
Our own two-acre pool, stocked with carp and other coarse fish, is exclusively available to guests. This tranquil spot is not commercially fished and is free to use—simply bring your own rods and enjoy.
